Its Miller Time!

Meet Kentucky's Mr. Baseball (1991) Trever Miller

No. 43 - RP Trever Miller (R/L):  Miller makes up the Cardinals other left handed specialist in the pen.  Like most of the older relievers in their bullpen Miller has been a gun for hire most of his career.  From the years 2000 to 2008 Miller was a free agent 7 separate times and was with clubs for no more than a year or 2 in most cases.  He appeared sparingly for teams in the majors but spent most of his time in the minors.  The longest he has remained with at team prior to his now 3rd season with the Cardinals is 2 years.  He has a career 4.19 era, but a 2.90 era since joing Saint Louis.  Lefties hit just .203 vs him last year, while righties his .273.  His fastball tops out in the high 80s.

Theres your Trever Miller profile.  He is your typical reliever who worked his way around the league and through the ranks right?  Not so fast.  Trever Miller is also a marathon runner and sponsors the Trever Miller's Mob 5K Race, which is in its 3rd year.  All proceeds go to The Miracle Baseball Field a specially designed baseball field for children with disabilities.  Trever Miller is an all around classy guy that you have to cheer for.  This story outlines the persective he has gained from the challenge that his family faces everyday.

Miller is hoping to regain his 2009 from in which he had a 2.06 era in 70 innings.  On the year he has appeared in 3 games for a total of 1 inning pitched.  He has an era of 0 and a whip of 2.  Even if you are not a Cardinals fan you still have to like Trever Miller.
